It is almost summer in Paris and the Film Festival on the Champs Elysees is one that we recommend, during the season. This festival, beginning on the 11th of June till the 17th, is the 3rd one to be held on the glorious Champs Elysees. A selection of independent films by film-makers of exceptional talent, from France and America will feature and African American independent films have the spotlight this year. Film students also get the chance to compete with fellow film-makers, in the short film section.

Keanu Reeves and Director/Writer Whit Stillman, feature in master classes and interviews, while English actress, Jacqueline Bisset, winner of the highly regarded 2010 Legion d'Honneur award, will lend her expertise as a judge, alongside esteemed French director, screenwriter and producer, Bertrand Tavernier. You simply won't want to miss out on this, while enjoying the elegance and charm of the city of Paris.

Summer Music Festival 2014 and Shopping Sprees

The Music Festival of 2014 (Music Day 2014) starts the summer solstice off on a melodic note. This event takes place on the 21st June. Professional musicians are invited to jam alongside amateurs and the passion for music, acts as a uniting force, bringing together people from various walks of life. Free musical concerts occur in various venues and musicians will also take over selected streets, bringing Paris to life, with harmonious rhythms and eclectic vibrations.

Paris is the place to be for fashionistas and shopping sprees. Boutiques and shopping malls are dispersed around the city, selling luxury and haute couture garments. You'll find lots of ready to wear stores, flea markets and antique shops to visit for the Summer Sales 2014. Paris is also known for its exceptional cuisine, so be sure to check out the delicatessens and food markets.

Film Festival on the Champs Elysees for Movie Lovers

Recommended by the Hotel Beaugrenelle Tour Eiffel, the Film Festival on the Champs Elysees promises excellence this year. The festival will feature a selection of American and French independent films and African American independent cinema will be a major highlight. Bertrand Tavernier and Jacqueline Bisset are guest judges and interviews and master class workshops, featuring talents like Keanu Reeves and Whit Stillman, will take place. Children will also be treated to animations during the Young Audience session. Festivities commence on the 11th of June until the 17th.
