Current exhibitions Louvre Paris offer you the choice between two shows that draw on the Louvre's world-famous store of the very finest artworks, and, when you stay at Hotel Beaugrenelle Tour Eiffel, you're within easy reach of the Louvre, one of the world's greatest art museums.
The first, 'Anglo-American Portraiture in an Era of Revolution', takes you to the heart of the creation of the United States of America through its revolution. The curators have chosen five of the finest portraits to tell this enthralling story, with George Washington, who became the first US president in 1789, at its centre. France's own revolution began in 1789 with the storming of the Bastille, so this show is ideal for Paris. It runs until April 28.
The second show is an unexpected delight. Running until May 19 is 'Sky Under the Roof', which takes you on a tour of the highly ornamental ceilings of the 17th century. This was a time when ornamentation was at its highest in interior decor, and what you had above you was as important in grand society, as what you had as furniture, or wall hangings. It's an extraordinary piece of social history.
The Louvre is an easy journey from Hotel Beaugrenelle Tour Eiffel, whether you take the beautiful walk there or choose the convenience of the Metro or use a taxi.
At Hotel Beaugrenelle Tour Eiffel, we know that you will love these latest exhibitions at the Louvre. Of course, you can trust us to help you book tickets and advise you on the best time to go, to make the most of your visit. And, as always, we'll offer you a warm welcome to our hotel.
